The Aspen Club Performance Center targets rehabilitation as well as performance training in a private setting within The Aspen Club and Spa. We will offer various devices designed to improve stability, endurance, agility and strength including Vibrogym training, VO2 MAX and Fitness Performance Testing and the Alter-G Anti Gravity Treadmill.
VO2 Max and Fitness Performance Testing (Contact – Riggs Klika at 970-379-0451)
A maximal aerobic test involves exercising until exhaustion. We will administer an exercise test designed to bring your body to its maximum. You will be tested on a treadmill or a cycle ergometer (stationary bike). During the test, you will breathe into a mask covering your nose and mouth and the expired gases will be analyzed. From the data collected, the maximal amount of oxygen used at your physical limits will be determined. This value is considered an indicator of your aerobic fitness and will be used to see where you fit on the fitness spectrum (coach potato-to-world class endurance athlete).
Other Performance Testing Options:
- Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR)
- Lactate Threshold
- Body Composition Analysis
- Biomechanical Analysis
- Training Program Design
Benefits include:
- Reduce fatigue and injuries
- Improve balance and proprioception
- Alleviates chronic joint pain
- Relieves plantar fasciitis pain
Alter-G Anti-Gravity Treadmill- An innovative breakthrough in medical rehabilitation and advanced athletic performance.
Alter-G’s technology, developed by NASA and tested by Nike, is different from other fitness and therapeutic equipment because it defies gravity by applying a lifting force to the body that reduces weight on the lower extremities. Unlike other unweighting methods, the G-Trainer enables athletes to train with their natural gait and rhythm, and significantly shortens the time required for patients to recover from injury or surgery.
Alter-G’s equipment allows a person to train longer, minimize stress on the joints, and exercise at a higher level of intensity. This type of therapy is also beneficial to medical patients suffering from arthritis, lower extremity fractures, knee replacement surgery, joint problems, strokes, neurological and balance disorders, and many other conditions.
The new equipment allows Aspen Club Performance Center clinicians to prescribe accurate partial weight-bearing exercise to more of their patients who are recovering from surgery, injury or disease of the lower body.
